many years the favourite route for purchase of a property
has been through an 'offshore' company, which until recently
provided tax advantages, confidentiality and reduced costs.
The recent changes in Portuguese legislation introduced in
January 2002 came into effect in 2003 and in many situations
make purchase through an offshore company extremely unfavourable.

Finance have not recommended the use of an 'offshore'
company for some time. Anticipating the change in legislation
- a very much more effective corporate structure was developed
which provides all the benefits and advantages of 'offshore'
ownership with none of the disadvantages or penal tax implications.
